2018 Jeep Wrangler Teaser Spot
With production time off the table and an aggressive deadline looming, my Creative Director (serving as copywriter) and I were challenged to create a fully realized Jeep spot without the benefit of a traditional shoot. Instead, we built the entire film from found footage—scouring short films, passion projects, stock libraries, documentaries, and countless corners of the internet in search of moments that could be woven into a cohesive story.
Working as a two-person creative team, we concepted the spot and I then spent hundreds of hours researching and sourcing footage from dozens of creators and filmmakers. The challenge wasn't simply finding content—it was finding footage with the cinematic quality, authenticity, and production value necessary to stand alongside Jeep's traditionally high-end commercial productions. Every shot had to feel worthy of a brand accustomed to large-scale shoots and premium storytelling, while also feeling like it belonged within the same film despite originating from entirely different sources.
Working closely with the editor throughout the process, I helped shape the narrative, pacing, and visual continuity of the spot, transforming a collection of unrelated footage into a unified Jeep story. What began as a production constraint ultimately became the creative approach, proving that strong storytelling, curation, and editorial craft can be just as important as what happens behind a camera.
